Sergio Lopez Figueroa
Sergio is the creator of Polyhum, a methodology of creative mindfulness and mind-body connection techniques through vocal vibration and participatory community music, an activity that he began to develop in the United Kingdom in 2016, combining it with his work as a piano teacher and of music for special education in London.
Sergio López Figueroa is a pianist, social entrepreneur, composer. He studied piano and composition in Italy and the United Kingdom at NFTS (National Film and Television School) and a postgraduate degree in film music from Bournemouth University. He trained as a mental health facilitator and communicator from Middlesex University. He is the winner of the 2008 European MEDEA award for the use of audiovisual media in education and historical memory. In 2009 he was selected for a project funded by the British Council in Delhi, India working with socially excluded children in a music and film project. As a composer he has received commissions for music for silent films from the Tate Modern gallery, whose music for Un Perro Andaluz was awarded at the Rimusicazioni Film Festival and later performed at the Berlin Film Festival.
