Rama Kshirsagar
Arts manager and curator, Bharatanatyam Dancer
I’m a freelance arts manager and curator with a background in Bharatanatyam, currently based in Pune. I work on performing arts projects while studying Human Resources at Fergusson College.
Hello, I’m Rama Kshirsagar. I come from Pune, where I first began learning Bharatanatyam at a young age. My passion for the form led me to study at the Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, where I spent six years completing both my Diploma and Post-Diploma in Bharatanatyam. It was a deeply formative time—not only artistically but personally.

While I love the art of performance, I discovered over time that I’m equally (if not more) drawn to what happens behind the scenes: managing performances, working with artists, coordinating with audiences, and shaping cultural experiences from the ground up.
After graduating from Kalakshetra, I joined Shreya Nagarajan Singh Arts Development Consultancy in Chennai—first as a marketing intern, then as a full-time programme coordinator. That experience helped me understand how cultural work functions at a professional level, and it confirmed that I wanted to keep working in arts management.
At the moment, I’m working as a freelance arts manager and curator, mostly in the performing arts space. I’ve collaborated with organisations like Kalasadhak, and I’m always open to new partnerships that are thoughtful and well-structured. Alongside this, I’m pursuing a BA in Human Resources Management at Fergusson College to strengthen my understanding of people, systems, and organisational dynamics.
I speak Hindi and British English, and I’m someone who enjoys working across different roles—whether that’s planning, coordinating, listening, or just figuring out how to make things run a bit more smoothly.
