Bringing her wealth of experience spanning nearly two decades to the forefront, Montreal-based Levinia Jones specialises in crafting dynamic and culturally diverse ecosystems that bridge the gap between multiple African countries and the Global North.


I had the great pleasure of interviewing Levinia recently and you can watch our interviews below.


Her expertise encompasses strategic acumen, cultural and social innovation initiatives, fostering the growth of the creative economy, and conducting in-depth research.


Levinia possesses a comprehensive skill set, encompassing collaborative leadership within complex teams, adept navigation of diverse cultural landscapes, a profound display of cultural intelligence, orchestration of imaginative cultural programs, efficient oversight of operations and finances, skillful facilitation, impactful mentorship, captivating storytelling, and effective communication.


Moreover, she excels in forming partnerships and cultivating extensive networks.


Throughout her journey, Levinia has been at the forefront of spearheading and curating a wide spectrum of programs, projects, and festivals for esteemed organisations such as Business and Arts South Africa, The Ar(t)chive, Drama for Life, and South Africa Fashion Week.


From 2013 to 2021, Levinia held diverse roles within the British Council. As the Head of Arts for Southern Africa since 2016, she spearheaded a team spanning eight countries.


Her tenure was characterised by pioneering methodologies, leveraging operational and cultural relations endeavours to promote equity and interconnectedness. She diligently fostered a robust network across Sub-Saharan Africa through projects, hubs, and residencies, engaging stakeholders across all levels of the industry.


At present, operating under the umbrella of Levinia Jones Consulting, she lends her expertise to multiple organisations. Her roles include serving as a Trustee for the Arts and Culture Trust in South Africa, an Associate with Flourishing Startups in Canada, and affiliations with Andani.Africa and DFL Playback Theatre in South Africa.


Levinia's profound curiosity extends to people and cultures, spanning diverse communities, countries, collaborations, and partnerships. Her current inquiry centres around how embracing differences can lead to groundbreaking solutions, paving the way for equitable and flourishing futures.


With the flexibility to reside and work in Canada, South Africa, and the UK, Levinia remains poised to seize emerging opportunities on her horizon.
