Meet Krista Reynders (Conservation Photographer and Cybersecurity Leader) and discover his fantasy cultural year.
Krista Reynders is a wildlife photographer and the founder of YGQ Solutions a cyber security firm, she has seamlessly woven her passion for photography with her deep commitment to wildlife conservation and cultural heritage.
Krista’s lens is drawn to the untamed beauty of wildlife, the grandeur of landscapes, and the silent histories whispered by old infrastructure buildings.
Through her work, she captures more than just images; she tells stories, of resilience, survival, and the delicate balance of nature. Every frame is a testament to her respect for the natural world and her desire to share its wonders with others.
Her journey into photography was driven by a need to document and protect the things she loves. By collaborating with conservation organisations and sanctuaries like Love Lions Alive Sanctuary in South Africa, Krista uses her art to raise awareness and inspire action.
Her photographs serve as both a tribute and a call to arms, urging people to see the world differently and to play their part in its preservation.
Beyond her work with wildlife, Krista finds beauty in forgotten places, abandoned structures, weathered by time, each holding echoes of the past.
She believes that architecture, like nature, tells a story of survival and adaptation. Her images breathe life into these spaces, capturing the artistry in decay and the interplay of history and environment.
Krista’s approach to photography is intuitive and immersive. She doesn’t just observe; she connects, with her subjects, with the landscapes, and with the very essence of the moment. Whether she’s deep in the wilderness or exploring the remnants of forgotten civilisations, she seeks to create a bridge between art, culture, and conservation.
But Krista’s expertise isn’t limited to photography. She is also a highly respected Cyber Security and Resiliency professional, with over two decades of experience in the field.
As the founder and CEO of YGQ Solutions, she leads a company dedicated to protecting businesses in Belgium, Europe, and beyond from ever-evolving cyber threats. From risk assessments and vulnerability management to AI security and cloud protection, Krista and her team ensure that organisations remain resilient in the face of digital challenges.
YGQ Solutions isn’t just another cyber security firm. It carries the namesake of Krista’s beloved dogs, Yogi, Goofy, and Qwin, a show of her belief in the harmony between technology and the natural world. The company even embraces a pet-friendly culture (yes, office cats and dogs are absolutely a thing here).
And through YGQ Solutions, she demonstrates that art and technology can coexist, both playing a crucial role in shaping a safer and more sustainable world. Her photography isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about impact. And in every click of the shutter and every cyber security strategy she develops, Krista is reminding us of the world’s fragile beauty, and our responsibility to protect it.
So, if you’re looking for a cyber security expert who speaks fluent tech but also understands the rhythm of the wild, Krista Reynders is your person. Whether it’s fortifying your business against digital threats or capturing nature’s raw beauty, she’s always at the frontline, securing, creating, and making an impact, one keystroke and shutter click at a time.
Krista Reynders' fantasy cultural year
Guided by founder of the Arts and Culture Network, Mark Walmsley, Krista Reynders embarked on an imaginative exploration of her passions photography, animals and the world.
A Global Documentary using photography

Given Krista's talent for expressing perspective, journeys, focal points and an invitation to follow a pathway (see above,) Mark proposed an ambitious, fictitious foundation-funded journey for Krista: a worldwide study focusing on documenting journeys and pathways through photographic images, following Krista's travels.
The fictional study would involve a global lecture tour, a TV series, a TED Talk, and a book deal.
The catch to go on this trip was that Krista could only listen to one genre of music for the whole year. She chose Celine Dion.
Cultural Exploration & Time Travel Adventures
Their conversation turned playful as they continued to design Krista's "fantasy cultural year," with Mark wielding a magic wand and time machine.
Mark and Krista discussed their travel plans, starting with Krista arriving in Nairobi and meeting young photographers. They went on a dance performance and dinner, featuring a dream dance performance by Cirque du Soleil and having Thai food.
They then flew to Tanzania, where they watched a sporting event, with Krista expressing her preference for tennis. Next, they visited a digitally enhanced art gallery in Johannesburg, exploring the work of an artist in virtual reality. Krista chose Paul Cezanne's work, and they immersed themselves in his work. They ended the day with a picnic in a canoe, discussing their next destination in London.
Exploring Art Forms and Experiences
Mark and Krista discussed their cultural and artistic plans for the weekdays:
On Monday, they went back in time to attend a pop or rock concert, with Krista suggesting a Celine Dion concert.
On Tuesday, they would watch a theatre play, with Mark suggesting a Shakespeare play at the Globe Theatre.
Wednesday would be dedicated to a West End or Broadway musical, with Krista expressing a preference for Cats or The Lion King.
On Thursday, they would attend an opera, with Krista suggesting Andrea Bocelli as a performer.
Finally, on Friday, they would go to the cinema, with Krista suggesting a Lord of the Rings film. Mark also mentioned a past experience of watching all three Lord of the Rings films in one day.
Through this imaginative exercise, Krista's fantasy cultural year was an adventure-filled journey, bridging photography, nature and animals.
