Anna Ouspenskaya is a full member of the Arts and Culture Network and stands out as a highly acclaimed musical entrepreneur in the Washington, D.C. area, renowned for her exceptional contributions to the world of music and education.

As a distinguished concert performer, she graces major stages with her remarkable talents, captivating audiences with her artistry. In addition to her role as a performer, Anna is a respected teacher, adjudicator, speaker, and a prolific writer and blogger, delving into topics related to music, culture, and education.

Since 2020, Anna has spearheaded the Virtual Concert Halls Team, solidifying her position as a leader in live Internet TV Broadcasting of music and cultural events. This innovative initiative has brought a new dimension to the presentation of musical performances, showcasing her commitment to pushing the boundaries of the musical experience.


Anna's musical journey in the United States began in 1991 when she clinched the Second Prize in the Bach International Piano Competition in Washington, DC. Since then, she has been a regular presence in the U.S., gracing stages across 18 states.


Her international acclaim includes being a finalist at the Bach International Piano Competition in Germany in 1993. Notably, Anna has recorded two CDs with Altarus and Ramsey records, featuring Russian compositions by Rodion Shchedrin, Rachmaninoff, and Tchaikovsky.


Hailing from Yaroslavl, Russia, Anna comes from a family of professional musicians. She made her debut at the age of seven with the Yaroslavl Philharmonic, playing Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D Major. Anna's musical education includes graduating from the Moscow Central Music School and earning a Master's degree from the St. Petersburg Conservatory.


Before relocating to the United States, she worked at Dudelange Conservatory in Luxembourg, enriching her international experience with performances throughout Europe. Anna's extensive chamber music collaborations include performances with principal members of prestigious orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.


Noteworthy milestones in Anna's career include her Carnegie Hall debut in 1999 and her Kennedy Center debut in 2002, where she showcased her mastery in performances of Saint-Saens' Fourth Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Second Piano Concerto in New York City and Washington, DC.


Beyond her accomplishments as a performer, Anna is a dedicated teacher, maintaining a private studio in her home and contributing to the piano faculty of Levine Music in Washington, DC. Her students have consistently earned acclaim in local, state, and international piano competitions, a testament to her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musical talent.


Anna Ouspenskaya and her Music Studio were featured on the TV show Rock Your Block, underscoring her influence and impact in the world of music education.

Hunter Mill Music Studio:


The Hunter Mill Music Studio was established in 1999 by two Russian-born and trained classical musicians, Anna Ouspenskaya and Igor Zubkovsky. They've been working for many years with students of different ages, various goals, from elementary through high school, college students and graduates, young professionals, and chamber ensemble groups.


In their studio they provide a nurturing environment for students’ personal growth, they help them learn technical skills necessary to be confident players, but more importantly, they teach them the art of communicating and expression through musical language.
